PUASA (FAST)

This month is month fast to Islam. I like this month, all people to do the best every time. But i think no only this month. If i may request every day, every moment, every month, every year to do the best always.
How is Bible say about fast?
Bible teaching fast also. Example : Jesus to do fast 40 day without eat and drink, i think it's amazing. Jesus can do it because Jesus is God. Another example is Ester to do fast 3 day, without eat and drink. I try to do it, but i can't. Daniel with friend to do fast also but he drink and only eat vegetarian 10 day.
How with fast now? We are see now, our religion teach us to fast only 12 hour, not yet 1 day and we don't it.
Fast is important because we learn to handel our live, eye, mouth and etc.
Bible teaching us in Mathew 6:16-18
16. moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
17. But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
18. That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
This is clarify to explain abouth fast. Fast can we strong to walk this live.
